About hardware certification

Hardware certification is performed by the hardware vendor, using tools and validation workflows provided through the Red Hat Hardware Certification Program. Once a hardware provider completes certification for their product, that product is displayed in the Red Hat Ecosystem Catalog along with details of what capabilities were certified and upon which Red Hat products the product is certified. It is up to the participating hardware vendors which systems to certify and upon which architectures and release(s) of Red Hat products.

Each hardware certification listing is for specific architectures and major releases of Red Hat products. For example, not all 64-bit systems have been certified for use with the 32-bit version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux; nor have all systems which are certified on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 been certified on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.
