Requesting access
Gaining access to Partner SFTP consists of two parts.
Red Hat must enable the partner for access to both the SFTP content repository and the key management interface.
The partner must configure their SFTP public key via the key management interface.
Only after both of the above have been completed in order noted can a partner access the Partner SFTP content repository.
Getting started
To enable Partner SFTP, contact your Ecosystem Partner Manager directly or via the epm@redhat.com mailing list with the following information:
a means to identify their partner Red Hat Account
a username of their choosing to use to authenticate to the SFTP service (this is known as the SFTP username, it is described below)
Once this information is received, your request for access will be reviewed; and next steps will be communicated.
How to identify your Red Hat partner account
Red Hat Login for an individual on the partner’s Red Hat Account
A Red Hat Login is an online user account used to authenticate to any Red Hat website such as the Customer Portal https://access.redhat.com.
Your Red Hat Login can be found by logging into the Customer Portal https://access.redhat.com and clicking on your avatar (upper right).
Red Hat Login was previously referred to as a RHN login (the latter being deprecated as RHN has reached end of life).
You need to speak with your Red Hat Organization Administrator (i.e. OrgAdmin) if you do not have a Red Hat Login. The OrgAdmin for your account must create a Red Hat Login for you in your company’s Red Hat Account.
Red Hat Account Number
This is the numeric account number associated with your Red Hat Account.
Your Red Hat Account can be found by logging into the Customer Portal https://access.redhat.com and clicking on your avatar (upper right).
Choosing a SFTP username
The SFTP username must follow standard Linux username conventions (man useradd). There may only be one SFTP username per Red Hat Account, it is a one to one mapping. Do not conflate the SFTP username with a Red Hat Login, they are distinctly different in that the former is used for authentication to the SFTP content repository and the latter is used to authenticate to the Red Hat Partner Connect website to perform public key management.
