Introduction

About Red Hat Partner SFTP

Red Hat makes internal pre-production (aka pre-GA) product content available to partners for development and early testing / feature validation in a content repository accessed via the SFTP protocol. The naming Partner SFTP is a carry over from the original content repository called Partner FTP.

Note that Partner SFTP is a completely separate service from Red Hat Secure FTP. The Red Hat Secure FTP service provides a sustainable, cross-platform and command-line accessible endpoint for customers to upload files to Red Hat Support.

Audience & use case

The expected use case has been and continues to be that partners have a local content repository mirror for sharing content within their company. Limiting the number of parties with knowledge of the SFTP credentials lessens the security exposure for Pre-GA content leaking to the public and aligns with Enterprise Security Standards. This scenario also reduces load on the content repository infrastructure.
